Writing a blog can sometimes be compared to writing a school paper; the introduction seems to take a zillion times longer to write then the rest of the paper. I always seem to struggle with a first line & to link it into the main topic of the blog (which you will soon discover that my topics eventually morph in to 10 different topics… Kind of like Ben 10… no? 0.o) ANYWAY!!!

Over the Easter weekend, I drove (when I say I, I mean my dad drove my family & my band drove also) 2.5 hours inland from my house on the Gold Coast to a town called Toowoomba for a music festival called Easterfest!! This year was my 6th year attending the festival! The first 4 years I attended as an onlooker. Last year, (2011) I played an acoustic performance & entered the band competition. This year (2012) I played a total of 4 sets over the 3-day festival; 2 acoustics & 2 full band performances… from memory they all went relatively well!!

Performing is definitely my passion. I know I sound clique when I say this, but it is where I can be whoever I want & tell the stories of my songs that were once written sitting on a couch or on my bed with an acoustic guitar.  It feels amazing to be on a stage performing to an audience (no matter how big or small) & seeing their reactions, some people cheer, some people walk away with their fingers in their ears… either way, I just enjoy honest reaction!!

I feel incredibly blessed to be able to do what I do at 16 years old. I mean, I’m not exactly selling out stadiums, but I am incredibly lucky to be given the opportunities to record in LA & perform on multiple stages at a festival such as Easterfest. I thank God everyday for that.

I’m generally not a very serious person, but I think it is important for people to know that I am truly thankful for a lot of things. I want to thank you for caring enough to read this!! ;)
