About the Album
In this first album since his days with his band Mainstreet, Ajay Mathur has created a collection of visionary songs that are a tribute to his talent as a singer/songwriter and musician. The album A Matter of Time is a culmination of many years of creative song-writing and the dedication of several masterful musicians – including the blues guitarist Richard Koechli - who have each added their own unique touch to the music. Ajay’s songs, a tantalizing mix between edgy, earthy and easy, are refreshingly different, absolutely unique.
Whether it’s ‘Restless Fool’ – a song about people who may have lost sight of what really matters. ‘Taking the Night Away’ – a piece about political struggle and isolation, ‘Rise and Shine – a tribute to the confusion of growing up or the title song ‘A Matter of Time’ – which combines Ajay’s Indian background with his European roots, it is difficult to pick a favorite. Each of the songs stands out on its own.
Ajay Mathur grew up in India where he rocked the clubs of Delhi and Mumbai before leaving for Europe. His band Mainstreet enjoyed far-reaching success in Europe in the 80’s and the 90’s with 3 top 20 chart singles and 2 top 15 albums. This is Ajay’s first album since the break-up of Mainstreet. ‘A Matter of Time’ indeed!

Hey Duane,
Thanks for listening in and adding me as your friend. Any favorites out of my 15? I'm curious.
Tell it to your friends, spread the word around. Cheers, Ajay
