- Biography Mick Swagga is a Soulful independent artist who has his roots grounded in music from an early age. As a child Mick Swagga artistic ability to soak in the knowledge passed down through his Grand Dad who played the blues and his Grand mothers vocal ability help shape the enterprising Hip Hop / Neo Soul artist, Born Thomas DEAS in a small town in South Carolina (Swansea) where violence and crime became notorious. As a young child, after graduation High School_(Swansea high)his passion for music lead him to study at the Art Institute of Atlanta. At the age of 18 Mick Swagga hit the ground running in the Hip Hop Music realm with his own group called H- 10 productions. This resulted in his association and networking with artist 2Pac shakur. Before they became famous. On his own path to stardom Mick Swagga developed a new group called m.p.g., At this time his determination resulted in a tentative record deal with Red zone Ent (arista) AND MOTOWN (universal) that fell when the power structure changed at the Major Recording Label. Mick Swagga innovative ability as a MC extended his flexibility to work with and share his production skills with such producers/artists like Tricky Steward for Red zone Ent ,Jazzy Pha ,Goodie Mob, and Outkast, His ability to blend in Hip Hop with the genre of Neo Soul has resulted in a refreshing up beat interpretation of a grown man and his life. In the year 2009, Mick Swagga has partnered with his brother to create an Indy Record Company called Reel Soul Music. As a partner, this allowed he the collaborative efforts and flexibility to make a mark in the music industry on his own. While still an active MC, his other accomplishments in the industry extend to writing with other talents on the label, Ghost writing between working local and high end venues Such as Hard Rock Café of Atlanta.
