Singer-songwriter from Seattle, WA. I began writing songs at a very young age. Really I was just making up my own words to some of the songs I heard on the radio as a kid, but to me it was serious business. My mom became ill when I was young so I spent some time living with my grandparents in Denver, Colorado. The were very religious and in fact were the caretakers of the church they attended. The message of religion wasn't really my cup of tea at the time but the music that was performed there was amazing. My grandparents being the caretakers of the place, they actually had an apartment that was adjacent to the church itself. My bedroom was actually inside the electrical closet of the sunday school portion of the church. I remember I used to sneak around late at night wandering through the church, which was enormous. One particular evening I gathered up my courage to wander up to the main part of the church and sat myself behind the grand piano sitting on stage. I remember it like it was yesterday. Trying to force myself to quitely play this huge piano in the middle of the night with the moonlight sneaking through the giant stained glass windows. That moment really changed me, talk about a religious experience. That was the moment that music really became important to me, like a religion...and it still is.
