Bio:: SubDuction rocks out of Akron, Ohio and is quickly becoming a power to be reckoned with in the local metal music scene. Drawing on many influences, SubDuction strives to make every song sound different. SubDuction gets the crowd on their feet and the horns in the air offering a high energy show with encouraged crowd participation. The SubDuction sound appeals to more than just the metal heads as the crowd also comes from hard rock and rock genres. SubDuction’s music was born from hardcore metal roots and expanded when adding a female vocalist to the mix giving the band it’s niche. They coupled a heavy hardcore metal sound with edgy, melodic vocals and came up with a version of metal that can be understood. That is what sets them apart in this genre. SubDuction strives to be one of the best metal bands around and is consistently getting bigger shows and a larger fan base. They are heavily booked and are highly professional musicians ready for the next show. Lyrics can also be altered for All-Ages events. SubDuction has come a long way since April 2009 playing venues such as The Outpost, Carriage House, Sadie Rene’s, JB’s, Cleveland Agora, The Shamrock, RocBar and Peabody’s. They have opened for national acts such as Otep, Kittie, Bury your Dead, Stemm, Bobaflex, Mushroomhead and God Forbid. They were invited to play at the Rock the Post Music Festival, Slave to the Metal Festival, Leroyfest, Carnival of Chaos and have appeared on the live podcast Band-Aid w/ Doc Rock in Cleveland. They have also made it into the Top 10 in the Hard Rock genre on Ourstage.com and were featured on Mike cameo's Indie Top 10 and are currently 7th in the Metal genre out of over 400 bands worldwide on Ourstagecom. SubDuction is a band that is in it for the music and believes that everything else is just an added bonus. It’s all about the music! All of us have been in many bands over the years. We are all drawn from many different styles and roots. Being able to sit down together and create meaningful, good music is amazing. We can have a song written and finalized in a practice, which a lot of bands can't do. We have that chemistry. We mesh that well together as a band. Being fronted by a female in this genre is a challenge. There aren't that many female front people at all. Especially in our region of Northeast Ohio. But given the diversity of the vocals and the ability of the melody to go from angelic to brutal paired with being able to understand the words and meaning of the song are what sets us apart from the others. Why write a song if no one can understand what it is about or the words and feeling behind it? It's all about the music to us. It's about relating to those that have walked down the same path and can relate. We have been in the music scene for a while. In many different genres and styles. We are 4 amazing musicians that love and live to play music. It shows in our live performances. They are BRUTAL! The live sound of SubDuction is hard to beat. Music is what helps us escape the monotony of every day life and everything that comes with it. We write from our souls. We perform from our desire and never ending love of the stage and dominating it.
