Durians are a three-piece group playing original music in the styles of EDM, Dubstep, and Drum n Bass. The songs are heavy, organic, and laden with improvisation, with elements ranging from filthy, aggressive bass wobbles to blazing Drum n Bass beats to rich horn lines. The musicians play a network of electronic, acoustic and hybrid instruments, including modified classical instruments like trombone and trumpet. Their live vibe is high-energy, intense and humorous, using stage personas and handing out prizes to the audience such as strange Asian candies (often Durian-flavored), pickled eggs and other off-putting somewhat edible treats.
