Bio:: "Sang Matiz" is the combination of two words: Sang, meaning blood in French and Matiz, meaning "Harmonious mixture" in Spanish. The band adopted this name originally because of the diverse backgrounds of its members and also the idea of bringing people of different bloodlines together through music. "Yuri", the very talented and natural born composer, singer and rhythm guitar player is Peruvian and of German descent, having acquired different styles and rhythms through south America and Europe. "Eddie" in the lead guitar was born in Peru too, and has a background in Rock, Pop, Blues Flamenco and Classical guitar; He lives in California since 1992 perfecting his new style with Flamenco and Latin guitar. "Cata" our very creative back up vocalist, percussionist and dancer was born in Chile and has lived back and forth between Chile and the US being influenced from both cultures. "Chicho" our bass player who also adds his knowledge of funk to the mix, has recently adopted the US as his new home. Most members have learned and performed with famous Latin Musician and Played in Prestigious Theaters, Halls and Concert places around South America and Central America. Song Writer "Yuri" has played multiple instruments since she was 5 years old and also played among different famous Peruvian musicians. She started fully composing around age 9 and has been influenced by different types of music having toured through South America and Europe.
