Hip- Hop emcee, Poet, was born on October 29, 1981 in Corpus Christi, TX. He grew up on the Southwest side of San Antonio dabbling in song writing and making beats. He committed himself completely to music, after football. He became KTFM Battle Champion forced to retire after an unbeatable win streak. As a musician Poet has hard-pressed for the art of music on the all important Hip-Hop scene. “With respect, I think the music has been tarnished because of the constant dumbing down of hip-hop.” Inspired by the likes of 2pac, Eminem, Talib Kweli, Lupe Fiasco, Lauren Hill and Mos Def, Poet’s music presents an art that can paint a picture in the minds of an audience capturing real life situations that the audience can relate to.
