Ms. Kash (The Rap Vixen) was born January 17th, and raised in Oakland, CA. Her stage name, "Ms. Kash" derives from her true name Kashann (pronounced Cash'ann). Ms. Kash's musical roots extend primarily from her father, who sang with the legendary R&B Soul group The Golden Tones. She was exposed to various genres of music at a very early age, which plays a major role in her music choices today. She grew up attending church with her Mother where she began singing in the choir, and later became lead drummer at age 14. As a teenager Ms. Kash developed a passion for the stage. Whether she was acting in stage plays she had written, performing in talent shows, or modeling. You could always find her involved with anything linked to entertainment. It was at the Oakland Convention Center where she met Queen Latifah at age 15 that made her totally focus on music. She took the words of encouragement from her idol at the time, and carried them with her into her future music endeavors.
Ms. Kash first began performing in San Francisco, CA at Club 6. From there she began performing all over California with other new Artists at the time such as J. Stalin, Shady Nate, and most Livewire artists. Before leaving the Bay Area she had established herself as an Artist and was featured on her first hit single "Party Tonight" by the Legendary Producer Jam G. "Party Tonight" was very successful in the United Kingdom where it won the 2007 Indie Award!
Ms. Kash has been a forceful movement on the music scene in the Bay Area, as well as the Pacific Northwest. She's worked with, and performed along side artists such as Brandy, Ray J, Yo Yo, Kidd Kidd, Too Short, Snoop Dogg, Edawg, Crucial Conflict & Many more. She has worked with various producers including The Mekanix,Saul and Mike D to name a few. Ms. Kash has released 2 mixtapes entitled The Rap Vixen Project (hosted by the Core Dj's & BET's own JiJi Sweet) & The Rap Vixen Project 2: Lost Files! Both mixtapes have now been placed in the search archives of Datpiff.com.
Ms. Kash released her first body of original work, an EP simply titled "Reign" in November 2019. Shortly after the release of "Reign", Ms. Kash was chosen as a "Favorite Artist" by Seattle Public Library, and her “Reign” EP was permanently placed in their Playback music catalog. The catalog also features other renowned artists and will be available for generations to come! The “Reign” single & video won all four Hip Hop categories at the 2021 Indie Music Channel Awards. Ms. Kash followed up with her viral track “2Faced” which won two more IMC Awards including Best Songwriter. The viral success of "2Faced" in 2021 earned Ms. Kash her first article in the Legendary Source Magazine which solidified her reign as Queen. She has since been featured in The Source Magazine multiple times and other major platforms such as Hip Hop Weekly, The Breakfast Club, ThisIs50, Hip Hop Since 1987, 4Sho Magazine & many more!
Ms. Kash is a very ambitious and passionate artist, with a very unique and sophisticated sound. She is very unpredictable with her musical approach. She always thinks outside the traditional sound of most rap artists, and creates her own distinctive and creative sound. Ms. Kash continues to blossom and intrigue her fans by consistently finding new ways to deliver her lyrics. Ms. Kash has a dynamic stage presence in addition to her powerful lyrics, which also displays her qualities as a great entertainer. Ms. Kash’s “Rap Vixen Music" sound can only be described as unique, raw & refreshing!
