Last Stand For Lucy was formed in 2007 in New York City by long time friend’s singer/guitarist Michael O’Neil and guitarist Derek Nicholas. In 2010 Last Stand for Lucy completed their line up with bassist Josh McElroy and drummer Jonathan Serwinowski. In 2005 Michael O'Neil enlisted as an Infantry Solider in the U.S. Army and served two years in Iraq. He received the Purple Heart in 2006 for wounds he sustained by an IED attack. During that time Derek Nicholas relocated to New York City and began working on developing his skills as a guitar player and songwriter. In 2007 Michael and Derek began writing material for Last Stand For Lucy. The band records their first EP "Bastards of Gramercy" in September 2009. Last Stand For Lucy released their 4 song EP, "Bastards of Gramercy" in April 2010. Their new lead single, "Burn Everything", is off their debut EP, "Bastards of Gramercy". "This single reflects the destructive impulses of a person who has abandoned hope for already desperate state of affairs", states Michael. Its theme is about regret and despair. This EP was released on April 15, 2010. It is representative of the overall feel of this EP, highlighting each individual musician's personality and talent. The feeling you get when you listen to this particular song is a cry for help and a cry for salvation. This deep emotion is portrayed not only by the vocal stylings of Michael, but the 'dueling' guitars that also bring sensation and dynamics to this song. There are plenty of very catchy guitar hooks and melodic cells within these songs that create a signature sound for this group. In fact the entire EP consists of dynamic lyrics played with dynamic force and conviction. The marriage between voice, lyrics and musical talent, takes Last Stand For Lucy to a new level. AT this time, Last Stand For Lucy is playing in New York City and surrounding areas.
