Sad Face is a collective of family and friends, many of whom started playing together three years ago in the confines of a quiet Seattle apartment. As a band, they strive to continually redefine what a rock band can do while still remaining accessible. Eschewing many familiar rock and pop cliches, they prefer structures and dynamics that, while unorthodox, never feel unnatural. Finding their sound niche somewhere between Deerhoof and Low, listeners are constantly moved by intricate melody and harmony while being wowed by dynamics that shift regularly between tender and moody to aggressive sonic assaults and noise.
