The band was formed in Skarzysko-Kamienna, Poland, in 2003 by two guitarists: Arek Ciesla and Radek Szymczak. The line-up has been changing many times and the current one is the following: Krzysztof Sokolowski (wokal); Arek Ciesla (gitara); Pawel Sasal (gitara) Artur Pochwala (bas); Mirek Czajkowski (perkusja). In 2005, Nemesis (since it was the first name of the group) recorded their first demo, Dlon z Podziemi, at Digi-Art Studio in Konskie, Poland. The album contained four songs in Polish: W Sidlach, Upadek, Dlon z Podziemi and Bestia Pospiechu. The demo got very good reviews, which encouraged the group to work on new compositions. At the beginning of 2006, the band changed its name to Night Mistress and from that time majority of lyrics was written in English. In April of that year, the group entered the Digi-Art Studio to record another demo called "In the Land of the Freezing Sun". It consisted of two Polish-lyric songs: Labirynt and Corka Nocy, and four English-lyric ones: Wind of the Gods, Freezing Sun, Battlefield of Lies and For Her. In November 2010, the group finished the recording of their first LP, which took place at JR Studio, Skarzysko-Kamienna, Poland. The album is entitled The Back of Beyond and consists of nine tracks. In September 2010, a Hollywood based record label 272 Records released a compilation “Kill City vol. 26” which included Night Mistress’ song Children of Fire. The track was also a single that promoted the very record. In March 2011, the band signed an agreement with a California based Hell Rider Records that will officially release Night Mistress’ debut album in North America on the 5th of May. Now, the group is looking for a record label to be released in Europe.
