Savanah Arlene Branch Johnson was born February 3, 1960 to Evander and Geraldine McNeil in Richmond, VA. Her family relocated to Henderson, NC when she was very young so she considers NC her home. At an early age Savanah started singing in the church. Her home church, Antioch United Church of Christ in Townsville, NC, is where her love for gospel music grew and developed under the leadership of her music mentors, Reverend Andy and Deaconess Rita Hargrove. In 2005, the Antioch Project Choir released their first CD entitled "Abundantly," with the first cut "I'm A Soldier For God," being sung by Savanah. With the help and talents of her musician, composer, producer, and husband, Daniel Johnny Johnson, Jr., the duet have combined their love for music into a collaboration that is unique and enjoyable to listen to. Along with gospel, which is Savanah's first love, she also sings R&B and jazz and is a featured artist on her husband's CD. Savanah and Daniel now reside in Atlanta, GA since January of 2009.
