The Badly Sketched Poets were formed in 2008 when guitarist, Dan Alexander wrote his first song Counteract. Mario Parescu, bass player and Dan’s school friend said, “Let’s form a band”. From there they added Chris Webb, another guitarist and school friend but struggled with finding a suitable drummer. After trying out a few drummers and session musicians, Alex Archer joined the band.
The band went through other names including The Casual Fridays and The Brixtons before settling on The Badly Sketched Poets.
Many artists influenced The Badly Sketched Poets music including The Beatles, The Strokes and The Libertines, just to name a few. Their indie rock sound is all original music with unique sounding vocals performed by Dan Alexander and Chris Webb.
With 16 original songs currently written and performed in many venues by The Badly Sketched Poets, they’re currently mastering their first demo CD which is due for release shortly.
