"I love their music. It's very rock." —DJ Oz’s introduction before playing “Jet Black Leather Lace” on his B-Local show on krockradio.com.
Very rock for sure, Circus Life puts an authentic dose into the needle that has been missing the vein for too long. While the band may be brand new, its members are no strangers to the rock n’ roll lifestyle. Featuring ex-members of such road horses as Fixer, More, and January Jane, Circus Life embraces and celebrates the tribulations of hard-living life on the road. Their shared experiences and fierce sense of brotherhood ooze through the music. Bandleader Tommy Zamp delivers his rich baritone with a swagger that belies his first foray as a lead vocalist, while delivering furious guitar riffs and leads with effortless aplomb. Backed by the muscular-yet-groovy rhythm section of Jakk Vincent on bass and Rev Swank on drums, Circus Life is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
Within months of the group's inception, demos of the tracks "Quicky Licky Nicky" and "Jet Black Leather Lace" saw regular airplay on the aforementioned B-Local show on krockradio.com. An early standout ballad, "I'm Leaving," tenderly addresses the difficulty of maintaining relationships in the "circus life" of rock n' roll. It’s a sentiment these boys are certainly familiar with, having sold their souls to rock n' roll from the get-go. But they wouldn't have it any other way, and all in all, the music represents something that is presently absent in most modern day, slickly-produced rock.
Though merely months-old, Circus Life has hit the NYC club circuit with a vengeance, pulling impressive crowds at such venues as Santos Party House, Crash Mansion, and Sullivan Hall. Their love, respect, and original output of good-old, barnstorming rock n' roll is highly infectious. It's a way of life worth experiencing.
