Shoplifters are Novi Sad based punk rock band.
We started playing in march 2002.After few moths of rehearsals and songwriting
we recorded our first two songs and one them finished on a dutch compilation called
'European pop punk virus vol.2' featuring finest pop punk bands from Europe.
It was released by a dutch label called Stardumb records.
Band played as many gigs as possible, and in december 2005 we opened a gig for the famous
Hard-ons in our hometown.After few demos, in November 2006. we recorded our first full
lenght called 'Technicolor Melodies'released by a local label SKC Novi Sad.
The album got positive reviews and Shoplifters went playing more and more gigs.
In 2009 band released a split album called 'Reach the Coast' with a Belgrade punk/hardcore band The Phonerings.
Same year we played at Exit festival.
In 2010 Shoplifters introduced a new singer, and began writing more new songs and playing more shows, biggest one with canadian punk rockers Real Mckenzies in september 2010.
In march 2011 we recorded live demos for our upcoming album.
Over the years people compared our sound and style with bands like:
Descendents, The Replacements, Lemonheads, Husker Du, The Smiths, Ramones, Posies, The Clash, Goo Goo Dolls,
ALL, Farside, Dag Nasty etc...
