Bio:
Gary Swann was born in San Diego, California, and grew up in the Housing Projects of New York City before moving to Los Angeles as an adult. His passion for lyric writing began in High School in the early 1970's when his English Teacher happened to hear him singing his own derogatory lyrics in the school hallway to the popular songs of the day. His English teacher stopped him to correct his indecent behavior and encouraged him to use his talent to create positive lyrics to be used for future original songs. This experience transformed his character and was the catalyst for his songwriting career.

Gary became a disc jockey on the University's radio station, WUSB 90.1 FM, while attending the State University of New York at StonyBrook in 1974. There, he pioneered the idea of mixing dance tunes, club style, during Friday night broadcasts. His show was so popular that students began using his show as the disc jockey for their campus dorm parties, which was unprecedented at the time. Gary’s concept was later adopted by commercial radio in the area. He also worked as a club disc jockey in New York City, before moving to Los Angeles.Influenced by such lyricists as Linda Creed, Hal David, Carole Bayer Sager, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Ritchie, Gary began writing song lyrics in earnest in the late 1970s. In 1978 he met recording artist, Chuck Cissel, who was shopping for a recording contract at the time. Cissel agreed to sing vocals on his demo recording of "Understanding Man", which he co-wrote with composer Peter Roberts. Cissel eventually got his recording deal with Arista Records, and recorded and released "Understanding Man" in 1982 on the LP "If I Had the Chance". Gary began a successful career in the Technology Industry in 1983. He later married the love of his life and spent years living in the love he had written so passionately about. Through their union were born two beautiful children. In 2005, he moved his new family to Huntsville, Alabama. After an extended time away from songwriting and the music industry, Gary was inspired to write a tribute to his wife for their seventh anniversary in 2010. He created lyrics for a new song, "Never Find a Better Love", and co-wrote the melody with a budding young local producer/writer, Thomas Holman. Holman later introduced him to Independent recording artist Kathy Yolanda Rice also a Huntsville native.

Gary and Kathy soon became friends and began working on the now Hit single "Love Is Like A Sunny Day" for her second CD, co-written by Gary and Kathy, which peaked at Number #2 on the UKSoul Charts.

Gary writes songs that cover various genres that are timeless, speak to the mind, touches the heart and moves the soul! Gary also creates professional Music Lyric Videos through his company, SomeGood Music www.somegoodmusic/KenGar-Productions.com.
