Bio:: With an amalgamation of traditional and modern instruments, both electric and acoustic, Abakuya’s music carries the listener on a powerful and enchanting rhythmic journey: a real call to dance and meditation.  This journey produced a musical album "Primitive Love" in 2008, marking the return of the polyrhythmic traditions of central Africa. Since then, Abakuya’s sound has evolved and been enriched with new textures, weaving fine electro-acoustic compositions that are sometimes gentle, sometimes wild.  Featuring amplified tribal instruments which are as intriguing to the eye as they are enchanting to the ear, this mixed duet opens us to a new music, a true urban tribal trance.  The output of a second album is scheduled for June 2011 with a few titles already available on EP.  http://www.myspace.com/abakuya
